Guam - PXC 27 goes down October 29th at the U.O.G Field House with 2 championship titles up for grabs. Fight promoter Eli Monge said, "We have done 2 fights in the Philippines and we are getting ready to do our next one there next month. We are excited because we were featured in this months FIGHT magazine. They did an article on the fights in the Philippines but now it's time to bring the fights back to Guam.
He added, "I think it's the best card that we have done and we have 2 championship belts that are on the line. We have Justin 'The Shocker' Cruz fighting Trevin Jones for the 135 belt. That fight to me is going to be decided by the person with the best cardio. Shocker to me is one of the best 135-pound fighters and that's why he has the belt. But then you have Trevin Jones who is a tough 135-pound fighter. That guy walks around at 155-160 tough good athlete good football player. He is the new generation of MMA so I'm excited to see that fight. Then you have the Juggernaut; Baby Joe this guy is known everywhere. He is known in Japan, California. He just came back from helping Dominic Cruz get ready for his fight. Baby Joe is coming from that camp and he's fighting Harris Sarmiento. Sarmiento has 64 fights under his belt and is one of the toughest guys I know. If Baby Joe does win this can be huge for Baby Joe's career because he is going to fight a guy that is well known and has fought some tough guys."
PXC 27 will feature a couple of amateur bouts with fighters trying to climb their way up through the rankings. The night will also mark the return of Ryan Bigler and J.J. Ambrose as they take to the cage against their opponents. Fighters from Korean Top Team, Trench Tech Saipan. Comquest and France will also look to bring recognition to their gyms with good showings come Fight Night.
Monge said, "I'm also excited about the amateurs as well because as you know Trevin came from that route. 9 months ago he was a amateur and he told me yesterday when he came to sign that he remembers looking at me last year in the seats when we had PXC on Guam and he is excited that a year later he's fighting for the championship belt. So that's why I'm excited about the amateurs because we get to find these talents. We have the return of Biggler, he's fighting Keli Manglona. Manglona is a real tough guy, he walks around at 200 pounds and he's cutting weight to drop to 170. Biggler hasn't fought in a while but just did a tournament and represented Guam a couple of weeks ago so he's getting focused and getting ready for this fight.
"This fight card is the best fight card to bring to Guam, check out our website at www.pxc.com.ph or www.pacificextremecombat.com and check information there. I want to thank our sponsors, Miller, DOCOMO Pacific, Gatorade, Pepsi, Monster and the Unarmed Commission for doing their job they have been awesome in what they have been doing."
